I will take a detailed health history, perform a physical exam, and provide you with your unique treatment plan.<\/p>\n<p>During the consultation, I will spend time getting to know you and your health concerns. You may be asked a wide range of questions about your symptoms, eating, exercise, sleep habits, emotional states, and anything else that may offer insight into your health.<\/p>\n<p>Diagnostic tools are also employed that are unique to acupuncture and Chinese medicine, such as tongue and pulse diagnosis.<\/p>\n<h4>Your treatment plan<\/h4>\n<p>Once the information has been gathered, you&#8217;ll receive a comprehensive diagnosis and we will discuss a treatment plan that will explain:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your underlying imbalances<\/li>\n<li>Your time line of care<\/li>\n<li>What types of treatment you will receive<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Getting the most out of treatment<\/h4>\n<p>For the best treatment results, keep a few things in mind:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please show up on time<\/li>\n<li>Eat prior, but don&#8217;t eat a large meal before your visit<\/li>\n<li>Wear loose, comfortable clothing<\/li>\n<li>Be sure to bring any questions or concerns with you to discuss at the visit<\/li>\n<li>Refrain from overexertion, drugs or alcohol for at least six hours before and after treatment<\/li>\n<li>Drink plenty of water for at least 2 hours after each treatment<\/li>\n<li>Follow your treatment plan between visits<\/li>\n<li>Keep all of your appointments, as each visit builds upon the previous ones<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>How treatment works<\/h4>\n<p>Treating Qi (energy) imbalances: fine, sterile needles will be inserted at specific acupuncture points along the meridian pathways. Based on your unique issues and symptoms, acupuncture points are chosen related to specific organ systems and areas of the body.<\/p>\n<p>Other related therapies may be included in your treatment plan, such as cupping, Gwa Sha, or moxabustion. Herbal remedies are another important aspect of acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and it is important to understand and follow directions in order to get the most benefit from these treatments.<\/p>\n<h4>Your role in the healing process<\/h4>\n<p>Your actions are a key component of your treatment plan. Focusing on your health and committing to a healthy lifestyle are the best steps you can take for your well-being. Together, we can heal your imbalances and help you achieve harmony and balance.<\/p>\n<p>Even after your symptoms are resolved, acupuncture can assist you in maintaining your health, and possibly prevent future imbalances.
